So I got Comic Garden a couple days ago, yay! I’m playing it at the same time as trying to finish Izayoiki, since I’ve played Harutoki 3 so often before
So far it’s fun, and I love the cute artstyle that’s very cartoony. The comic parts (minigames) are fun, though not that difficult, my only pet peeve so far is the lack of options – you can only save at certain points, and it seems like there’s no auto feature. The game is going fairly fast though, so maybe it won’t be too bad. I’m not using a guide, and apparently I’m on course to finish Totonoki-sensei’s route (CV: Midorikawa Hikaru).
And I’ve now finished Saku’s route and am trying to get Tomomori!!! It’s tough because other than right after you finish Shirogane, the hint section doesn’t give you any help, and you can’t see how you’re doing. You also have to try and avoid a lot of events – right now I’m most worried about that, as I’m supposedly about halfway through but I’m not sure if I mistakenly went off course somewhere…I’ll find out soon I guess!

Aww, finally I started playing it too.. b-but I thought the game was fully voiced? *sigh* Now that really disappoints me…
I’ve only seen the first time you assist sensei with drawing his manga, but that was pretty lame.. w-was I expecting too much from the mini games? Do they get better later on? (meaning, more challenging or creative)
I still like the game alot, tho the sound (voice) quality is a pretty bad and the fact it’s not fully voiced annoys me, also not being able to save whenever you want is a little stupid too, but the art is lovely, the story is really cute and all in all it’s rather awesome!
Well, the minigames never get very complicated, they’re never so hard that you can’t do them on the first try if you concentrate. I think there are five types:
tone cutting – I find this one the hardest
white painting – it only came up twice for me and I can’t figure out what to do
black painting – easy peasy
line tracing – pretty easy, this covers the boxes and character lines
background things – one where you have to ‘find’ and colour out the background after seeing it once, pretty easy, and one where you do one of those starbursts, also easy
Yeah, I should mention the sound, some of the voices can be muffled, which is annoying, but I do still love it – they’re all just so cute!
I can’t figure out the white paint thing either.. you put the brush into the white paint and then just nothing happens, whatever you do.. wtf? Hopefully I’ll figure that one out on my next playthrough.. or there’ll soon be a faq which explains it..
Starbursts? do you mean the speedlines around the speak bubbles? XD That one puzzled me first, I constantly kept on doing it wrong somehow.. but then it suddenly clicked and yeah.. XD
Ehh.. that free talk after you beat the game was LONG.. oO no wonder the game is not fully voided, lol. But it was so cute… hehe.
oh btw there’s an auto option when you keep pushing down on the cross, but you need to turn the speed of the text to slow or else it would be too fast.
