Got the new B’s Log, and there’s a new PS2 game announced! From Gungho Works, NadePro (Nadesico Voice Actor Production) is supposed to come out this year sometime. It’s based on a series of drama CDs of the same name. A big part of the game is learning how to be a good seiyuu – sounds like fun!
There’s also more info on Skip Beat (not going to be an otome game, so I guess you don’t ‘end up’ with someone?) and some release date news (Little Anchor Apr 23, Kazeiro Surf May 28, Garnet Cradle delayed to Apr 17). And of course lots of pretty pics ^_^
Well, I still haven’t gotten any new games *sniff*, and there doesn’t seem to be too much news right now, so I thought I’d make an open thread for questions on any otome games. If I don’t know the answer, I’ll search around and find it! In the meantime, I’m still playing Harutoki 2 – I think I actually like the heroine from this more than the original…
Two weeks ago I got an email from Yesasia that my games were shipped, and usually they arrive in about a week. This is my shipment that was Monochrome Factor, Shirokishi Monogatari, and e’tude prologue.
If I don’t get them soon I’m going to be depressed…I dunno if I’d order them again, it would feel like I got ripped off…
Yup, I finally (finally!!!) got something in the mail – the newest Girl’s Style and a two latest Cool-B’s. Cool-B is a gaming mag that is slightly more focused on Boys Love games, and is also more *ahem* adult (like, if you’re underage, please don’t order it, or your parents will inevitably find it and think that you’re being corrupted by videogames ).
Anyways, three new games were announced, the first is Skip Beat! based on the comic by Nakamura Yoshiki (anyone remember Tokyo Crazy Paradise? I loved that series), that’s currently running in Hana to Yume. 5pb will be publishing that one in the spring for the Playstation 2. The second new game is Himehibi 2 from Takuyo for the PS2, which I’m quite happy about because I really liked the first one. Plus, one of the characters you can get is the class clown guy from the first one whom I really liked. And the last new game is Kram from Ribbon Magic. It’s kind of a sequel to Crep Sidra, their first all-ages game for the PC, which I haven’t played since I heard that the story wasn’t fully explained. Maybe we’ll find out all the answers in this game? It has a different protagonist though, apparently she was a side character in Crep Sidra. Kram is scheduled for a summer release for the PC.
That’s about it for announcements, I also found some more info on Ore ga Omae o Mamoru and Love Loop, so I’ll make separate posts for those.
I’m getting the new Girl’s Style and some Cool-B’s today, so I will finally have something new to write about! My B’s Log from January is still not shipped yet (I figured out that it’s a book holding everything up) so I’ll end up getting the January news after the February! Oh well. I’m just happy to have something to do, my games still haven’t arrived yet either, and I’ve been playing Fushigi Yuugi Suzaku, which…is pretty boring when you know what happens all the time. But I really have no one to blame, I could have played a more interesting game like Last Escort 2 but didn’t have the energy for it – FY is definitely less involved, like I just leave it on auto and read a book, half-listening to the dialogue, heh.
Anyways, apparently this Girl’s Style has a big feature on Vitamin Z, yay! I’m looking forward to seeing what else is in it too since so many new games were announced.
Nooo, the person I was most looking forward to in Kanuchi Kuroki has been changed – Akuto, Clato’s brother, will now be voiced by Midorikawa Hikaru. Don’t get me wrong, MH is great, but once I’m used to someone’s voice as a character, it throws me off to hear a different one – it gives a totally different feel.
I don’t know why the change was made, but I’m kind of sad about it
I saw this game in the mags a month or two ago, and thought it looked very cute, but it’s not really an otome game – it’s based on a shoujo novel series (I call them shoujo novels because the line, Shueisha Cobalt, is generally marketed to girls and the books include illustrations by shoujo manga artists) and anime of the same name and (I think) the main character falls in love with Edgar the same way as in the books – no different routes here.
So though it’s not an otome game, otome game fans might like it, so when I saw more info on it at Dengeki Online, I thought I’d write about it.
It’s being released on April 30 for the PS2 by 5pb. The setting is 19th-century London (Victorian), and the main character, Lydia, can see and talk to fairies. She’s having a hard time making ends meet when a young man named Edgar appears and asks her to help him prove that he’s an earl by using her powers. She does, and after his claim is accepted, he employs her as a fairy ‘doctor’ and she continues helping people with fairy-related problems.
Though the gameplay is only about the fairy cases, and actually the game ends if Lydia ever gives in to Edgar’s attempts at romance, the characters would definitely fit right into an otome game, along with their seiyuu. Edgar is voiced by Midorikawa Hikaru, and other character voices include Sugita Tomokazu, Miyano Mamoru, Kamiya Hiroshi, and Koyasu Takehito. I’m going to wait and see what the gameplay is like before committing to this, but it looks like it could be fun!
While work is killing me quickly and all I have time for is playing a bit of Corda on the PSP and checking the news sites, there’s not much interesting happening, but I did find these:
New titles are being released in the “Best of” series for PS2 and PS3 – including a couple recommended RPGs, Rogue Galaxy and Senjou no Valkyria – I downloaded the demo of Valkyria after people recommended it here, and it looks very good, so I might be buying these ones Rogue Galaxy is 2800Y, Valkyria is 3990Y.
Tokimemo GS Trading Cards! Yup, they’re being released in March and include cards with a fantasy theme as well as art from the game. Interessant~
Yay, my games should get here this week! Just in time for me to not be able to play them because of quarter-end at work… Well, at least I can look at them.
So I’m getting Shirokishi Monogatari, which I’m going to wait till I have at least a full day to try playing, and e’tude prologue that might take me a while, and the other real game is Monochrome Factor. I’ve never seen the show, so I have no idea what the plot or characters are like, but the designs are cute so I figured why not.
If anyone’s played it, please let me know what you thought of it. Good routes? Favourite characters?
Right now I’m playing Corda 1 again – I consider Corda to be one of those great games that you can get really into and play a lot, but you can also take your time and play through one route, then pick it up a while later and try another one, and it’s still fun. Pretty light on romance and character storylines, but very fun gameplay. Right now I’ve gotten Yunoki, Hihara, and Ouzaki – I think I might go for Tsuchiura next.
I didn’t see any news item about this, but I thought it might happen – Dimple has pushed back Love Root Zero to May 28.
