I saw this game in the mags a month or two ago, and thought it looked very cute, but it’s not really an otome game – it’s based on a shoujo novel series (I call them shoujo novels because the line, Shueisha Cobalt, is generally marketed to girls and the books include illustrations by shoujo manga artists) and anime of the same name and (I think) the main character falls in love with Edgar the same way as in the books – no different routes here.
So though it’s not an otome game, otome game fans might like it, so when I saw more info on it at Dengeki Online, I thought I’d write about it.

It’s being released on April 30 for the PS2 by 5pb. The setting is 19th-century London (Victorian), and the main character, Lydia, can see and talk to fairies. She’s having a hard time making ends meet when a young man named Edgar appears and asks her to help him prove that he’s an earl by using her powers. She does, and after his claim is accepted, he employs her as a fairy ‘doctor’ and she continues helping people with fairy-related problems.
Though the gameplay is only about the fairy cases, and actually the game ends if Lydia ever gives in to Edgar’s attempts at romance, the characters would definitely fit right into an otome game, along with their seiyuu. Edgar is voiced by Midorikawa Hikaru, and other character voices include Sugita Tomokazu, Miyano Mamoru, Kamiya Hiroshi, and Koyasu Takehito. I’m going to wait and see what the gameplay is like before committing to this, but it looks like it could be fun!

No offense…but I thought it was Hakushaku…not Danshaku
Gyaaa, thanks for telling me!
Now where did I get danshaku from??
…
Ah, danshaku means baron (though I should have recognized the kanji) and hakushaku is earl – gotta change that too now.
