August news!

Finally got some more info on Kamigami no Asobi, so that will have its own post with pics etc. If you can’t wait, I posted a pic of the foldout poster on my tumblr, it’s quite nice (the guy in the middle totally reminds me of Noel from Wand of Fortune even though the artist is different).

On to the news!

• SEQUEL TO ARABIAN’S LOST – yay!!! Arabian’s Doubt, set after (I think) the normal route in Arabian’s Lost where you win the bet but don’t get a husband. Eileen finds herself forced to act as ruler after her parents take off one day on a trip (the basis for so many shoujo comedy/dramas, really). In this game we get to meet her ex-boyfriend Theodore and he has a route! Can’t wait. Now I must finish all the other routes (Stuart and Lyle, I’m looking at you!)
• Also a sequel to Ouma ga Toki, Tasogaredoki
• Uta no Prince Sama All Star coming on Mar 7, 2013. Holy crap they have a lot of stuff! Very cute chibi figures set for November in Animate.
• New game from Otomate, Shiratsuyu no Kai(?) Just a teaser spread with two twins and some text saying there’s another existence inside them (!?)
• Another new Otomate game, Princess Arthur – a game where the heroine, Al, is chosen as the king after she pulls Excalibur from a stone, and the love stories are with the Knights of the Round Table! Character designs are by the artist from Angelique Maren no Rokukishi
• Another teaser for a new game from Otomate, Norn9 – it looks modern and is apparently set on a ship – art is by the Jyuuzaengi artist
• Cast for Glass Heart Princess announced! Kenn, Suzuki Tatsuhisa, Hatano Wataru, and Miyata Kouki
• Koi wa Kousoku ni Shibararenai! will be released Nov 29 – there’ll be a promo drama CD in next month’s Girl’s Style
• Diamond no Kuni no Alice. Set in the country of Diamond, where the past mixes with the present, and all the characters have forgotten Alice but she remembers them.
• The new Amnesia game which is set after Later is going to have a lot os suspense and myatery. And did you know Amnesia is getting animated?
• Cast announced for Seishun Hajimemashita! Also a cute foldout poster
• Another game for Hanayaka Nari, Waga Ichizoku – set after Cinema Mosaic
• VitaminZ fandisk, Graduation!! It’s set in the last few days before school graduation, and you have to make sure the guys successfully get through the ceremony. They have to make sure they communicate their feelings to you! Also, VitaminX and VitaminZ are coming to smartphones! Only available in Japan, I assume.

   What!? Another Hanayaka Nari, Waga Ichizoku game after Kinema Mosaic? Ohhh… can’t wait to find out more about it! I finished the first HanaIchi game and plan to play Kinema Mosaic sometime this year… maybe next month. Thanks for the information!

   Is it weird if I’m like “yay continuation!” with QR games but “….are you sure this is a good idea?” with Otomate games? I really liked Hanayakana and would like to see the characters again, but IDK with how Otomate is right now I don’t know if I want one. I mean. Cinema Mosaic was sort of one already, and Otomate’s not known for the quality of their sequelitis?

   That said, I actually think their new original titles are interesting conceptually. Even if Princess Arthur gives me Fate/Prototype and/or Fate/Stay Night vibes.

   Also! You’re the only one who reports on Koishiba, wow. You also have a banner! I thought that game looks fairly interesting, but is seems to have generated little buzz this close to release.

   Well just wanted to reiterate a great big THANKS for putting together this super-helpful guide. Even though I don’t understand Japanese and don’t plan on making an excursion like this anytime soon, I’m still bookmarking this page for future reference! ^_^
