B’s Log news

March 1st, 2013

I didn’t get B’s Log till today, so this is probably late, but hey, better late than yada yada.
Alice in Mirror Land ~Wonderful Mirror World~

In magazine news, B’s Log is starting a bimonthly special edition called B’s Log Primo in April, with all original content such as special illustrations, short stories, and interviews – of course all relating to otome games.

And in cell phone news, I got a Nexus 4 and gee, there seem to be a lot more otome-ish apps available, even if they’re still in Japanese. I was able to download all the Soine Kareshi (in English it’s Sleepy-Time Boyfriend), as well as Seifuku no Oji-sama, which at first launch seems really nice! I’m thinking of doing a cell phone game roundup, since there are now a bunch of apps/games that I think otoge fans would be interested in, and even some with English translations.

And I scanned some pics of Arcana Famiglia 2 from Girl’s Style, they’re not great but they show the difference in chara designs.

Elmo!

Dante! (avec cheveux)

And finally, Nova. (Now I remember why I didn’t post these, I took them with a camera and they’re ENORMOUS.)

Next post will be about Chromatic Press!

    thank you for the news
sorry for bothering you but did the magazine really confirm Ace, Gray, Nightmare, Boris and Julius will have main routes ?

  2. lijakaca says:

Yup I’m 99% sure, there’s a section where the producer (or director or something) is asked about the characters with ‘capture’ (kouryaku) routes, and those 5 are the ones they talk about. They’re also the only ones that have big, full-length pictures. Ace is actually shown twice, once as his young self like in the previous Diamond game, and then his adult self (which in Dia Alice sees only briefly soon after she arrives).

    thank you very much ^^
it’s just that when I went into Mirror’s character page, at first the order is boris, nightmare, gray, ace, julius…, but after that it was changed to nighmare, gray, boris, jericho, julius, crystal, sydney, ace…
In the Diamond’s page it’s blood, elliot, the twin, cystal, sydney, jericho… aka the main routes
That why I’m worried Ace’ll only have side route and because jericho, sydney, crystal are the new character, it really make senses
I only hope it won’t be like last time, only know who have main routes when the game come out

  4. lijakaca says:

Jericho is still featured a lot as a ‘guide’ type of character, but I don’t think he’ll have his own route in Mirror.

    oh then i’m relieved
    thank u ^^

  7. lijakaca says:

    Hi,

Storm Lover 2nd doesn’t have a release date yet, and Norn9 is coming out May 23.

  8. akumashiro7 says:

oh.. okay.. thank you soo much. btw, is norn9 already english or still use japang language?

after that…. can you recommend to me otome games for psp? please recommend me english otome games or otome games that have english patch… but if there are no any of them, then just recommend japanese otome games :)

sorry if i ask too much and sorry if my english little weird.

  9. lijakaca says:

Hello again, you’re very welcome! Norn9 is only Japanese right now.

For the PSP, there is Hakuoki that’s available subtitled in English (JP audio), you can buy it in stores, online, or through the PlayStation Network. It’s quite cheap! The same company that did Hakuoki, Aksys, is also translating Bakudan Handan, or as they’ve translated it, Sweet Fuse. It’s coming this summer.

As for English patches, sorry, I don’t know, as I play the games in Japansese.

If you’re willing to try Japanese games, you’d probably enjoy Tokimeki Memorial Girls Side 3rd Story without knowing Japanese, as the plot isn’t too complicated. You can order it a few places like play-asia, yesasia, and cdjapan.

Or if you like anime, there are several based on otome games, so you could watch the anime (they’re available subtitled on Crunchyroll for free), and then play the game, it should give you a good basis of the plot – Hiiro no Kakera (Scarlet Fragment), Amnesia, and Arcana Famiglia.

I hope you can find an otome game you like, good luck!
