B’s Log will probably get here tomorrow or Friday, but I got the Girls Style and Cool-B.
Apparently 2012 is the year of police and detective games! There’s the Detective VitaminX game (in Feb), and Karin’s new game Eikoku Tantei Mysteria (with the son of Lupin III as a master cat thief!), and the new Tiny Machine Gun from Rejet, with the first CD coming in February and a game in September.
A few pages on Black Wolves Saga, which as I thought has the artist from Gekka Ryouran, and will be released in two segments – one, Last Hope, for the PSP, and the other, Bloody Nightmare, on the PC! In Last Hope you’re with Russ Bogard, a wolf boy, and in Bloody Nightmare you’re with two cat boys, Mejojo (pronounce the j’s as y’s) and Uuger (pronounced Ooje) von Garibaldi. LH is supposed to be a story of true love, whereas BN will show twisted love. Taking advantage of being on the PC, apparently there will be several ‘shocking’ scenes (it’s not R18 though, so I think they mean disturbing/violent). Now, is this actually an otome game? It actually sounds more like a visual/light novel.
New game from ASCII Mediaworks and Vridge, Koi wa Rule ni Shibararenai, for the PSP. In this game the heroine is suddenly appointed as the president of her school (not of the student council but the school!) She can change school events and rules, but the student council has a say as well and can either agree or oppose her decisions. Part of this game is trying to make the student council acknowledge you as the president. Next issue will have the cast, so I might do a post on it then.
Custom Drive is a different sort of otome game coming from D3P – you can customize your boyfriend, not only with accessories, hairstyles, and clothes, but even change their personalities! The producer says players shouldn’t worry too much about playing ‘correctly’, but just play how you want and enjoy the game. Each of the three characters introduced have their own short story up on the website that you can access through a QR code – I’ll have to see if mine works. They also have English descriptions (in SHOUTY CAPS, hehe):
Riito Touma (CV: Toyonaga Toshiyuki from Durarara!!): HE IS YOUR CHILDHOOD BOYFRIEND. Ok then!
Ruka Mayuzumi (CV: Hosoya Yoshimasa): HE SEEMS TO LOVE YOU, BUT…? Sounds ominous!
Shion Kannagi (CV: Kimura Ryouhei): YOU WILL COME TO KNOW HIS SECRET. I hope it’s good!
More info on Koisentai Love & Peace for the PSP. I still haven’t listened to my drama CD of it, so when I do that I’ll post on it.
Sangokuren Senki is coming ot the PSP! (I don’t remember hearing about this but it may be old news) New events and CGs will be added, and an ‘episode’ for Genjou as well.
A new game from Takuyo – Kami-sama to Koigokoro for the PSP, where the heroine is training to be a nun and three of the guys are priests-in-training. Another love interest is a priest!
A new character will be available in Harutoki 5’s fandisk Kazahanaki. Rindou is a totally new character, an onmyouji who helps the heroine but acts cold to her, telling her to give up on being a miko. I thought they were missing something and I just realized – Harutoki 5 had no purple-haired bishounen! Rindou is a totally necessary addition. And Sou will also have a route!
Fandisk for Amnesia coming in March -= it’s called Amnesia Clatter.
And finally, there’s a teaser for a new game from Otomate, Hakuouki and Hiirno No Kakera’s producer and miko, the artist from Beastmaster and Prince. Not much is shown, but it’s set in the Sengoku period and apparently about oni. It looks very cool, I love miko’s art.
That’s all for now, more to come on Friday with B’s Log!
That’s the name of the newest game from 5pb and Rejet, announced for release December 1 on the PSP AND PS3!
The heroine Lilith is training to be a priest in the small northern town of Dordorn. Raised in the temple, she’s a little naive, but bright, honest and hard-working. She uses a staff called the i-scepter.
One day she encounters Nayuta and Kirite, and she starts out on a new path. Not too much is clear about the plot except that it’s about saving the world.
Krite Asturias (CV: Sakurai Takahiro) A cool samurai who uses a longsword that’s the same height as him, and he’s from Savilla. He doesn’t show emotion much and doesn’t like socializing much, but meeting Lilith causes him to change.
Nayuta Roen (CV: Fujiwara Yuuki)
Born and raised in Ingrid, he’s the straightforward Captain of the White Lily Knights, protecting the temples and law of the city. In addition to being an expert at the spear, he’s also good at using healing and protective magic. Seeing Lilith, who’s still learning, he tends to be a little harsh with her.
Soo Majiku (CV: Yoshino Hiroyuki)
A skilled fighter from Dainus who loves freedom. He hates feeling restricted and isn’t very good at social niceties, so he’s often scolded by Nayuta.
Nate Suruya (CV: Masuda Toshiki)
A werewolf thief who uses a bow from the woods near Midvan, he looks young but is actually the oldest of the whole group.
Nico Velvetnein (CV: Kishio Daisuke)
A magician born in Melrond who calls himself a sage. He’s willing to do almost anything for knowledge, and joins Lilith’s party because he’s interested in ‘saving the world’.
Camus Tetra Porte (CV: Suzuki Yuuto)
A small fairy who’s been Lilith’s best friend since she was small. Usually he’s bright and cheerful, but he sometimes shows a perspective that has many years of experience behind it. He’s very protective of Lilith. He can use nature spirits.
That seems to be the general idea behind Rejet’s new game for the PC, Tokyo Yamanote Boys.
The heroine has been picked as the judge in a contest to pick Tokyo’s “#1 High School Student” in a kokuhaku taikai, or (love) confession tournament. There’s one boy from each area of Tokyo (the areas come from the Yamanote train line in Tokyo), and the game setup is kind of like Starry Sky. It’s a multi-release game, with each section coming out two months apart, and featuring the stories of three of the guys (shown together in the video). Here’s the release schedule:
Tokyo Yamanote Boys Honey Milk – April 2011, 3500Y
Featuring Ninomiya Yuuto (CV: Suzumura Kenichi) from Shinjuku, Misaki Kotarou (CV: Morikubo Shoutarou) from Ikebukuro, and Momose Ayumu (CV: Yonaga Tsubasa) from Sugamo
Tokyo Yamanote Boys Super Mint – June 2011, 3500Y
Featuring Kirishima Iori (CV: Suzuki Tatsuhisa) from Shibuya, Isono Rui (CV: Kaji Yuuki) from Akihabara, and Kujou Takumi (CV: Yusa Kouji) from Meguro
Tokyo Yamanote Boys Dark Cherry – August 2011, 3500Y
Featuring Rudou Jesus (CV: Namikawa Daisuke) from Roppongi, Moroboshi Tetsu (CV: Toriumi Kousuke) from Ueno, and Hamada Shinnosuke (CV: Suwabe Junichi) from Shinagawa
There are also music CDs coming out for each release, as well as events. As you can recognize, the artistic as well as directorial team is the same from Lucian Bee’s. It’s interesting that they’re moving from the PS2 to the PC for this project, I wonder if it’s to keep the game costs down, since they’re splitting it up into parts?
Each game is set in the last week of the tournament, when only three guys are left.
Note:Finally I get a post up on time! The last couple weeks I have been a day or two late, and that is unacceptable! So here is this week’s post, bright and early. Not too much text but a lot of pics! ^_^
This game has been in the works for a while, I believe there was a B’s Log TV show of the same name which started everything.
In this game, there are several ‘banchou’ (banchou is usually what you call the leader of a gang), all specializing in different things. The player is a girl who has never been in love before, and throughout the game is taught how fun and interesting romance can be.
There are the ‘main’ banchou, which includes the pink-outfitted guy and his sidekick that you may have seen before, as well as four others.
Renai Banchou CV: Morikubo Shoutarou
Yasu CV: Terajima Takuma
Sawayaka Banchou CV: Kenn
Sexy Banchou CV: Toriumi Kousuke
Pretty Banchou CV: Kaji Yuuki

Mysterious Banchou CV: Ono Daisuke
And here are the ‘rival’ banchou.

So, more about the Scarred Rider Xechs‘ game system!
Girl’s Style lays the game path out using the first chapter as an example. In all there are 13 chapters, and they’re presented like an anime, with a little song and ‘preview’ of the next chapter at the end.
In the beginning there’s an adventure part, where you enjoy the noncombat life on the LAG base, develop relationships with the Xechs guys, and perhaps even see them play live as Odd I’s. Depending on what you choose, you raise either their ‘love’ gauge or their ‘death’ gauge (focusing on battle). After the adventure part is done Commander mode starts, and the guys ‘resonate’ with their Substance. Their Resonance personalities become more like their Substances the higher the death gauge is (their voices also change!), but apparently depending too much on the death gauge can lead to negative consequences…
Looking closer at the Commander mode, it starts when a red alert comes up during the adventure mode. A Vox (some type of vehicle?) brings all of you from wherever you are on campus to where the alert is.
Once there, you get a briefing on the situation, and choose which Rider to use in battle. The Rider resonates with his Substance, and the mission begins.
After the battle you see what the result is, and depending on your choices, the story will branch off.
The website has lots of videos, mostly just snippets of character dialogue, but they just put up a game intro video that’s pretty good at showing how it works.
