Starry Sky comic in English

January 6th, 2012

What the bleep, this was set to publish on Friday, in fact it still says publish on Jan 6. >.<;; Sorry for the delay!

The second straight post on English releases, is this a sign of what's to come in 2012??

Anyways, I might be the last to know (I am sadly late on English news), but DMP Publishing is releasing the Starry Sky comic! Volume 1 comes out in April.

Apparently its genre is shonen (…lol).

(sorry for the shortness of the recent posts, this thrice-weekly schedule is hard! But I’m almost done routes in Angelique, Beyond the Future, and one other game to put up as reviews)

Mag news

April 17th, 2010

I caved and ordered VitZ Revo, and got it a couple days ago. I’ve done Tendou’s normal route, and am in the middle of his dream route. Aa, Vitamin wa tanoshii na~!

I must say though, it looks great on the PSP – very clean and crisp. I also got Dear Girl Stories ~Hibiki~ at the same time, so I’m kind of comparing it to the DS as well. By the way, apparently DGS doesn’t really have any romance in it – d’oh! It’s just a stat-raising game with some almost-romantic-but-not-quite moments in it.

I also got some new magazines, and ooh good stuff in them! Girl’s Style came with an 8-page book about Kazukiyone and Hakuouki, as well as Hakuouki bookmarks and Starry Sky stickers! It’s probably because there’s no CD or DVD-ROM.

I didn’t even realize that Starry Sky got animated, but um yeah, it is! Haha. Girl’s Style also had info on the PSP versions, which will have several additional scenes, backgrounds, and other changes (one is that you can choose to show the heroine’s face, which is good, but sounds creepy that she didn’t have one before :P )

Storm Lover had some info as well, it will not only have routes leading up to a relationship, but will be about maintaining the romance or breaking up if you fail, and maybe even getting back together later! Interesting.

There’s also an article on the game system and some of the scenes in Xechs, it seems kinda complicated so I think I’ll post on that later.

Oh, and Mahoutsukai to Goshujin-sama has a release date! It’s set for July 31.

New type of otome game? Starry Sky

January 8th, 2009

Starry Sky is the new project from honeybee, a company that specializes in producing drama CDs – and not just drama CDs, its focus is on a series of CDs that are designed to…help you go to sleep by listening to a seiyuu count sheep.  Srsly. I have no words. Not even going to try to understand this :P

Anyways, it seems that instead of the usual game being released with a drama CD as extra, this is a series of drama CDs that comes with PC games as an extra! Every month throughout 2009, a CD will be released that represents that month’s astrological sign and one of the twelve characters. Every three months, a ‘planetarium’ CD will be released that represents a season and features three of the characters (it doesn’t look like they’re in order though – for instance, Spring includes Cancer, Pisces, and Capricorn) explaining their constellations’ legends, and including a PC game as an ‘extra’. The drama CDs will cost 1500Y each, and the planetarium CDs/games will be 3150Y each.

I can’t decide if this is a great idea, or just another way to get some more money from us otome game fans :P Then again, their ‘counting sheep’ series seems to have done well, so maybe honeybee is onto something here. Either way, the cast is excellent, full of seiyuu stars.
